Mrs. Kornelia Thümmel, born 1971 in Germany, will occupy the studio from October to November 2016. After her training as woodcarver she graduated as a sculptor at the Art College of Halle and, since then, works as freelance sculptor in Dresden. Kornelia Thümmel visited the Valais already twice and is fascinated by the history and character of the “Rottuhägi”, the river spirit of the Rhone. This she would like to incorporate into her work. She will make sketchy designs in wax and perhaps haveone work carved directly into wood.
